Dairy Sector Study Georgia
On request of Senter, agency of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs,
HVA International in consortium with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) both of the
Netherlands implemented a Dairy Sector Study in Georgia to gain a better insight
in the dimension and the dynamics of the Georgian dairy sub sector. In Georgia
the local Consultancy Company “Business Support Centre” of Kutaisi (BSC)
assisted the consortium. This dairy sector study is part of the Senter project
“Strengthening the Dairy Sector in Georgia, a Chain Approach (PSO98/GE/1/1)”.
The study’s objective was to make a survey of the sector as a whole, to identify
constraints and opportunities for development of the sector, and to develop
ideas for future projects qualifying for Senter’s PSO programme for Georgia.
