BACKGROUND
OF PROJECT

Rehabilitation of the Savannah sugar complex, which started operation in
1980, is required to prevent deterioration of the estate and factory, and to
increase cane production to utilise the factory at its designed capacity.

Factory overhaul and rehabilitation:
Implementing an overhaul program to secure continuity of sugar production
Preparation
of detailed designs for factory
rehabilitation, preparation of tender specifications,
tender evaluation and supervision of contractors for the installation and
construction works

Rehabilitation and expansion of the irrigation system:
Design of a
gravity irrigation system for 1,300ha new cane area (field layout, land
leveling (furrow irrigation), pump station, canals, drainage system and
structures)
Preparation
of tender documents, evaluation of tenders and supervision of land
leveling and construction |
